On est montés à 3 (big up à Mustapha et Kamel), on était sur les Champs, on a pas dormi pour rentrer avec le train de 6h du matin. J’avais même gagné des places avec Skyrock pour un spectacle de Jamel Debbouze, j’ai pu les revendre 600 francs devant l’entrée ! Mon pote avait aussi trouvé un Motorola à clapet sur les Champs, il l’a revendu 800 francs. C’était énorme à 11 ans pour des gamins d’un quartier pauvre de Perpignan. // I was underage, 11 years old, I told my mother that I was going to sleep at a friend’s house, it was to celebrate the transition to the year 2000, the train tickets were at €1 thanks to an operation. I was with 2 friends (big up Mustapha and Kamel), we were on the Champs-Elysées, we didn’t sleep to get back with the 6 A.M. train. C’est pour ça que j’ai commencé par le rap pur et dur. Il était hors de question d’avoir un peu de finesse. J’osais même pas chanter devant mon ex qui était elle-même chanteuse et me disait que je chantais bien. // It was recently thanks to the Internet and comments like: « I love your voice too much », « your voice touches me ». Before, I was often told that my voice was weird, it was a complex. That’s why I started with pure rap. It was out of the question to have a little finesse. Je viens d’un quartier où si tu gagnes 800€ par mois, c’est comme si tu payais l’ISF ! On avait même un Centre Loisir des Jeunes tenu par la Police, on jouait au billard avec eux, ils voulaient adoucir leur image et ils nous emmenaient au ski et à l’équitation pour 20 francs. Du coup pour le clip de « Sur ma vie » j’étais bien préparé, même si c’était un cheval de 1m60 et que quand j’étais petit, j’apprenais avec un cheval nain du nom de Folichon. // It was in my town, for the local newspapers, when I was a kid.
