Casey Veggies : Je suppose qu’on peut dire que j’étais encore en train de me chercher. Je pense que dans la vie, chacun connaît ses propres expériences et cela nous mène dans des directions différentes. Je cherchais juste mon chemin. J’attendais le moment parfait pour attaquer à ma façon. Je suppose qu’on peut aussi blâmer le label (rires), mais ce n’est pas moi qu’il faut pointer du doigt.// I guess you can say I was finding myself all the way. I think in life, everybody goes through real life experiences and it takes them in different directions. I was just finding my way. Waiting for the perfect time to attack the way I wanted too. I guess you can blame the label too (laughs) but I’m not the one to point fingers.

Ne pas laisser l’opinion de qui que ce soit t’influencer et tout simplement être authentique, être honnête, vrai à 100% avec le public. //Organic, doing it your way and not letting anyone stop you. Not letting anyone’s opinion change the way you coming and just being authentic, giving people the one hundred percent real.
OFIVE : Avec la récente perte très douloureuse de Nipsey et Mac Miller, à quel point était-il important de représenter la Côte Ouest sur cet album, notamment en y invitant The Game, YG ou encore Dom Kennedy ? // With the painful loss of Nipsey and Mac Miller, how important was it for you to represent the West Coast on this album, especially with the presence of The Game, YG, and Dom Kennedy on it ?
Casey Veggies : C’était extrêmement important. Après la mort de Mac et celle de Nip, j’ai repoussé la sortie de mon album de 6 mois. J’avais juste besoin de temps pour réaliser ce qui était en train de se produire. Aujourd’hui, j’arrive avec un désir, une faim différente. J’ai l’impression qu’ils vivent encore en moi, en nous et à travers toute la culture Hip Hop. J’ai besoin de rendre mes frères fiers, ma ville fière.//It’s extremely important. After Mac and Nip passed away, it pushed back my album another 6 months. I just needed time to think about everything that was going on. Now I’m coming with a different hunger. I feel like they living through me, through us, and through the whole culture of Hip Hop. I definitely gotta make my brothers proud. I gotta make the city proud.
OFIVE : Pourquoi avoir appelé cet album « Organic » ? // Why did you call this new album Organic ?
Casey Veggies : J’ai toujours eu en tête d’appeler un de mes projets « Organic », mais ce n’était jamais le bon moment. Le concept est venu naturellement. Pour moi, être « organique » c’est ce qui m’a amené jusqu’ici. Je me raccroche à la définition d’« Organic » qui dit que : « Je suis bon en étant seulement moi-même et je n’ai pas besoin de me forcer comme le font ces autres artistes ». Il n’y a rien d’artificiel en moi; je suis brut et entier auprès de mon public. Avoir une approche organique c’est la meilleure manière pour créer de la musique, c’est donc ce que j’ai fait sur cet album. J’ai livré mes émotions véritables sans trop y réfléchir. // I always had the idea to do a project called Organic, it just never was the right time. The concept came naturally. To me, doing what’s organic is what got me here. Organic is a statement saying : « I’m great at just being myself and I don’t have to force it like these other artists ». There’s nothing artificial about me; I’m giving people that raw and uncut. Having an organic approach is the best way to create music, to me, so that’s what I did on this album. Gave my true emotions and didn’t overthink it.
OFIVE : Quels sont tes albums favoris depuis début 2019 ? // What are your favorite albums since the beginning of 2019 ?
Casey Veggies : Il y a eu plein de sorties très cool. J’écoute beaucoup de nouveaux artistes. J’apprécie Money Man et son nouveau projet « Paranoia ». Gunna et Lil Baby sont également au top en ce moment. // There’s been a lot of dope music dropping. I have been listening to a lot of new artists. I like Money Man new project Paranoia. Gunna and Lil Baby have been killin’ it too.
OFIVE : Quels sont les rêves, les objectifs que tu souhaites encore atteindre ? // What are some dreams, goals that you feel you still have to reach ?
Casey Veggies : Simplement recevoir la reconnaissance et le crédit que je mérite. J’imagine qu’on peut appeler cela « être respecté ». Même si je suis déjà respecté dans le milieu, j’ai l’impression qu’il manque encore quelque chose. J’ai atteint beaucoup de mes objectifs mais je m’en crée toujours des nouveaux. Je veux vraiment continuer à être une inspiration pour certains. Aider la nouvelle génération à sortir du ghetto et atteindre ses objectifs. // Just getting the credit and recognition I fully deserve. I guess you can call that « respected ». Even though I’m already respected in the game, I feel like I haven’t fully got my just due. I’ve reached a lot of my goals but I’m always creating new ones. I really just wanna continue to inspire. I wanna help the next youngin’ make it out the hood and reach his goals.

Casey Veggies : Je pense que je vais faire quelques dates pour célébrer la sortie d’« Organic », à Los Angeles évidemment. On pense également à partir en tournée avec Rockie Fresh pour notre nouvel album « Fresh Veggies 2 ».//I’m thinking about doing a few shows after Organic drops, definitely in L.A. Rockie Fresh and I have been thinking about doing a tour for our new album, Fresh Veggies 2.
OFIVE : Si tu pouvais voyager dans le temps, où irais-tu ? // If you could time travel, what would be a time you would like to visit or revisit ?
Casey Veggies : J’irais dans les années 80 pour profiter des vibes de l’époque. Les années 80 et 90 quand la musique était si authentique. J’essayerais probablement de faire un son avec Tupac (rires). //I would go to the 80’s and just catch a vibe. The 80’s and 90’s, really, music was so authentic back then. I would probably try to get a song done with Tupac (laughs).
OFIVE : Quel est ton talent le moins utile ? // What’s the most useless talent you have ?
Casey Veggies : Le skate parce que je m’en sortais bien mais pas assez pour en faire une carrière. // Skateboarding, because I was decent but not good enough to do anything with it.

Ils ont vu la zone sombre dans laquelle je me trouvais et comment j’ai pu m’en sortir. Maintenant je suis là et plus prêt que jamais. // My mom and dad, for sure, and my brother Corey.
