OFIVE : Ta première claque musicale ? // Your first music crush ?
Tawsen : « Boom Boom Pow » des Black Eyed Peas. On m’avait envoyé le morceau par Bluetooth et je l’écoutais tous les jours sur le chemin de l’école. J’étais bouche bée devant le clip avec les effets 3D et je trouvais que le mélange rap/électro fonctionnait bien. // « Boom Boom Pow » by the Black Eyed Peas. The song was sent to me via Bluetooth and I listened to it every day on my way to school. I was speechless in front of the video with the 3D effects and I thought the rap/electro mix worked well.
OFIVE : La première fois que tu t’es senti fier de toi ? // The first time you felt proud of yourself ?
Tawsen : Je ne sais pas si j’ai déjà ressenti ça. Je serai fier de moi quand j’aurai acheté une maison à mes parents, pas avant. // I don’t know if I’ve ever felt this way before. I will be proud of myself when I buy a house to my parents, not before.
OFIVE : Ta première fois sur scène ? // Your first time on stage ?
Tawsen : J’ai chanté dans des bars mais la première vraie scène c’était le Botanique à Bruxelles pour mon premier concert. C’était une belle expérience, tous mes amis étaient dans le public et il y avait une ambiance familiale. // I’ve sung in bars but the first real stage was the Botanique in Brussels for my first concert. It was a great experience, all my friends were in the audience and there was a family atmosphere.
OFIVE : Ton premier clip ? // Your first music video ?
Tawsen : C’était pour le morceau « Aucun Remords » qui est disponible que sur Youtube d’ailleurs. Je l’avais tourné avec Goldo (un ami et beatmaker) avec une caméra que j’avais acheté en promo à la Fnac, sans trépieds ni rien ! J’ai passé 5 jours à faire le montage sur un PC qui buggait toutes les 3 secondes tellement il était vieux, mais c’est grâce à ce clip que les gens ont commencé à s’intéresser à moi. // It was for the song « No Remorse » which is only available on Youtube by the way. I shot it with Goldo (a friend and beatmaker) with a camera I bought on special offer at the Fnac, without tripods or anything ! I spent 5 days editing it on a PC that bugged every 3 seconds because it was so old, but it’s thanks to this video that people started to be interested in me.
OFIVE : Ton premier crush sur une célébrité ? // Your first crush on a celeb ?
Tawsen : Rachel McAdams dans « N’oublie jamais » … les sentiments que j’ai pour cette femme … si tu lis ça Rachel sache que je t’aime ! // Rachel McAdams in « The Notebook » … the feelings I have for this woman … if you read this Rachel knows that I love you !
OFIVE : Ta première grosse déception ? // Your first big disappointment ?
Tawsen : Difficile à dire, j’en ai eu tellement que j’ai arrêté de compter depuis longtemps, mais heureusement ces déceptions m’ont toujours aidé à m’améliorer et grandir.// It’s hard to say, I’ve had so many that I stopped counting a long time ago, but fortunately these disappointments have always helped me improve and grow.
OFIVE : Le premier livre qui t’a marqué ? // The first book that made an impression on you ?
Tawsen : Tout le monde connaît mon amour pour les Harry Potter, j’ai lu (et relu) cette saga durant mes premières années en Belgique, ce qui a fortement contribué à mon apprentissage du français.Pour citer d’autres livres, je dirais : « Gli elefanti hanno sete » de Mariella Ottino et « Le Soleil des Scorta » de Laurent Gaudé. // Everybody knows my love for Harry Potter, I read (and reread) this saga during my first years in Belgium, which greatly contributed to my learning of French. To quote other books, I would say: « Gli elefanti hanno sete » by Mariella Ottino and « Le Soleil des Scorta » by Laurent Gaudé.
OFIVE : Le premier film qui t’a marqué ? // The first movie that made an impression on you ?
Tawsen : Un film marocain qui s’appelle « Classe 8 ». Il raconte l’histoire d’une professeur qui veut aider deux élèves perturbateurs au Maroc. Je me rappelle d’une scène assez violente qui m’avait choqué quand j’étais jeune. // A Moroccan movie called « Class 8 ». It tells the story of a teacher who wants to help two disruptive students in Morocco. I remember a rather violent scene that shocked me when I was young.
OFIVE : Ta première fois à Paris ? // Your first time in Paris ?
Tawsen : C’était pour ma signature en édition chez Universal. J’étais déjà passé par Paris une fois avec mon père, quand on faisait le trajet en voiture pour aller au Maroc, mais on ne s’était jamais arrêtés. Aujourd’hui encore j’y retourne uniquement pour le travail, je n’ai jamais vu la Tour Eiffel de près ni le Louvre. // It was for my signature in publishing at Universal. I had already been to Paris once with my father, when we were driving to Morocco, but we never stopped. Even today I still go back there only for work, I’ve never seen the Eiffel Tower up close, nor the Louvre.
OFIVE : Ta première fois au Maroc ? // Your first time in Morocco ?
Tawsen : C’est compliqué à dire car quand j’étais petit, on partait chaque été au Maroc. Pour mes parents c’était très important de garder un lien avec nos racines et visiter son pays aide beaucoup. // It’s complicated to say because when I was little, we went to Morocco every summer. For my parents it was very important to keep in touch with our roots and visiting our country helped a lot.
OFIVE : La première personne qui a cru en toi ? // The first one who believed in you ?
Tawsen : Moi, depuis le début et pour toujours. // Me, from the beginning and forever.
OFIVE : Ta première grosse connerie ? // Your first big mistake ?
Tawsen : Quand j’étais au lycée, j’avais allumé des pétards dans une cour remplie d’élèves, je l’ai très vite regretté. // When I was in high school, I had lit firecrackers in a courtyard full of students, I soon regretted it.
